As a rule, administration buildings are rather banal assignments for architects. The conversion of the neo-Renaissance building, which on account of numerous changes and additions especially during the Third Reich had lost all architectural quality, is a laudable exception to this rule. The architects proved to be up to the task of intelligently and circumspectly converting the neo-Renaissance colossus that had been severely spoilt in the years from 1933 to 1937, when the awkward concrete arcade had been erected and the original facade with cornices, bays with coats of arms, embrasures and oriels had been painted over and ornamentations removed.
