Graveney School in Tooting, London, has a long tradition. Its origins date back to the 1660s. In the course of time, it grew to become a large campus with numerous historical buildings in which the various areas of study are housed. Sixth-form pupils were to have their own everyday educational facilities.
The architects, teaching staff and pupils cooperated closely in the planning – something quite rare in England. It took place in this case, however, because the architects had previously completed a number of design projects for Graveney School and were well acquainted with the users’ and clients’ needs.
