The steel stairs in the double-height hall lead to classrooms off an open gallery. The first landing on the stair can also be used as a platform during functions held in the hall. The 2 cross beams are made of 2 rolled steel 200 sections, between which are welded the supports for the beech steps and landings. A stainless steel roller allows for translation at the lower end of the cross beams, the upper end is fixed. All bearing points are sound insulated. Perforated metal sheet forms the infill between the stair railings, a spot welded wire grid taking its place at gallery level. Below the normal-height handrail is a lower, slimmer one for the smaller children.
