On an undeveloped plot of land in the centre of Tuttlingen-Möhringen, surrounded on all sides by buildings with pitched roofs, the architects created a single-family house as an urban-compaction scheme.

Just as surprising as the asymmetric form of the structure and its black polythene fabric outer skin are the layout on plan and the hybrid form of construction. The load-bearing structure is based on two reinforced concrete cross-walls that intersect in the middle. About these, the dwelling levels rise in a series of steps. The facades were executed with timber framing, and the roof is a rafter construction.
