This new sports hall for the Japanese sport of judo is situated in a typical suburban location on the outskirts of Paris. Outdoor facilities, circulation and ground plan are all clearly designed and set out. The outer form of the building, with its slightly inclined longitudinal façades and defined plinth, hints at a Japanese-inspired architectural language. The main hall can seat 622 spectators, and, at a slightly higher level, separated by a curtain, there is a smaller training area with adjoining ancillary rooms.
