One third of this sports hall is embedded in the slope. The roof resembles a folded green leaf, its angles creating interesting perspectives through the glazed walls. On the south side the roofing continues onto the facade, lower down is solar shading. 12 half-frames with cantilevered arms, anchored at the ends to maximise the continuous effect, make up the roof. The effective span is 27.5 m. The horizontal bracing, in the form of steel trapezoidal sheet, also has a loadbearing function, thus obviating the need for secondary girders. Soffits are exposed throughout. Concealed bolts or welds maintain visual harmony and careful use of colour underlines the leaf analogy.
