Discussions that increasingly deal with resource conservation in the field of building and the carbon footprint of construction materials generate new fields of application for the traditional means of building with straw bale. It also offers ample design opportunities. The social housing project in Nogent-le-Rotrou, roughly 150 km west of Paris is an example for this. It was realised by the young architects Sandra de Giorgio and Gianluca Gaudenzi of NZI.
