An open architectural competition for student apartments led to the construction of this group of 17 two-storey high terrace units, each housing six students. Careful planning of public, semi-public and private areas, courtyards and gallery corridors, creates an open friendly environment. The site lies between a residential area on one side and open countryside on the other. The university can easily be reached on foot. The high ground water level and a nearby area of wetland prompted the choice of raised pile foundations, space thus created being used for storage and parking. Apartments are linked by exterior corridors and galleries. In each unit there are two study/bedrooms on each floor, plus entrance, kitchen, hallway on the ground floor, sanitary facilities on the first floor and a general area in the attic storey.
