The Tibirke Hills nature reserve, some 60 kilometres north of Copenhagen, is characterized by its sand dunes and moraine landscape covered with pine trees and heather. At the beginning of the 20th century, this magical region attracted many artists and authors who wished to build summer houses there, and these were often designed by famous Danish architects of the time.

Sebastian Skovsted and Søren Johansen have reconstructed a house dating from 1905 that had been planned in part by Ivar Bentsen. Infested with vermin and ultimately uninhabited, there had been no alternative but to demolish the former structure.
