Coloured glass is now available in a wide range of types and designs, each with different technical and visual characteristics. Architects are interested not only in the visual impact but also in the technical specification of coloured glass. This report looks at bodytinted, coated, printed glass and laminated glass with interlayers of coloured film. The use of coloured glass in architecture is no new phenomenon. In the last ten to fifteen years, however, tremendous advances have been made in the manufacture and processing of coloured glass, resulting in a wide diversity of coloured transparent building skins. The colour is introduced into the glass either at the manufacturing stage or it is applied in later processing.
