Set amid a magnificent stock of mature trees, these 36 terraced houses for young families form part of the redevelopment of a former military site. The architects sought to lay out the three-storey dwellings in groups set in a flowing landscape, while at the same time retaining the legibility of the individual houses. The south faces of the roughly 4.60-metre- wide units are articulated by centrally positioned French windows. Restrained areas of colour highlight the otherwise white houses, which are in a mixed form of construction. The?basement and floors are in reinforced concrete, while the party walls consist of a double skin of sandlime bricks. In contrast, the storey-height facade elements and the timber-panel roofs are prefabricated.
