Triple glazing units achievevery low U- and g-values with their various coatings and inert gasfilled glazing cavities. However, these glass constructions cannot adapt to changes in the ambient climatic conditions without limiting daylight autonomy. The glazing requires additional shading elements. These lead to a deficit in daylight yield in the interior of the building and restrict the views out. In the research project InDeWaG (Industrial Development of Water Flow Glazing Systems), part of the EU-funded programme Horizon 2020, researchers developed a form of insulating glazing that allows control of the incoming solar heat striking the glass surface without adversely affecting transparency and limiting the daylight autonomy inside the room.
