With their winning project for the Detail Readers’ Prize, McCullough Mulvin and Designplus Associates have reinterpreted local building traditions in a compelling way. In the north Indian state of Punjab, some 80 km from Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh, Irish architects McCullough Mulvin have been working on giving a new look to the local university campus in Patiala since 2015.
