Recycling is the password for anything that is reutilizable, and paper for newspapers is no exception to this rule. But how to get rid of the waste paper that accumulates if, for example, 6% of 600000 copies of a 180-page weekend edition are rejects - newspapers which are inadequately printed and cannot possibly be delivered to subscribers and readers? Today the obvious answer is recycling. In the case of the waste paper management of the Süddeutscher Verlag, a conveyor belt carries the rejects to a collecting point located at the edge of the works premises from where container-trucks then transport them to a non-company recycling facility.
