On occasion of the commemoration of the Lutheran Reformation Bruno Fioretti Marquez extensively modernized the castle complex in Wittenberg in order to prepare for the expected large number of visitors.

The castle had been adapted for reuse numerous times in the past throughout its 800 year history and eventually had become a labyrinthine system lacking a coherent circulation pattern. The intention was to create a connection between the castle and the castle church that would also provide space for exhibitions, a library and a seminary.
