During the process of quarrying oil shale for the production of cement, an abundance of fossilized deposits were found. As laid down by the laws of the preservation of historical monument, fossilized deposits also devolve to the state. However, in order to prevent their disappearing into the depots of some or other museum, the works management decided to expand their planned building programme for a new works entrance with information pavilion, training- and data processing facilities and additional offices to include a company museum to house the notable collection of fossils.
