On a narrow residual site along the railway line, 245 mini apartments were made near Montparnasse train station. A number are rented to students, others to workers who are only temporarily in Paris. Smaller communal spaces, a launderette and a roof terrace for all residents augment the residential use. On the ground floor there is also a health centre and a second-hand shop run by the Salvation Army.
