The Old Vicarage with characteristic modest floor plan and clear volume dates back to 1735 and is typical of the traditional building style indigenous to this region, the so-called Jura-architecture. The name derives from the Jura mountain range, which forms the transition from central to western Europe, embracing French, Swiss and German territory. In 1783, an annex was built to the main building on the basis of an economical construction. Due to their obvious duality, the conversion and rebuilding of the old building above all prerequired a circumspect approach to preserve its historic fabric.
