In adherence to the new ordinance for drinking water, residues from herbicides and pesticides in the ground water are filtered out by means of an active charcoal filter. Together with the existing pump station - a fine example of turn-of-the century architecture - the development forms an appealing ensemble in the setting of the forest and Porzer Ringstraße. Due to its position slightly lower than that of the old building, the new plant accentuates the dominance of the old building, while intensifying the contrast between its technological presence, the natural environment and the decorative industrial architecture.
