Casa Colorada, in countryside outside the town of Acatitlan, is the architect's own weekend house. Outdoor areas are neatly divided by the house's L-shaped plan. Terraces of varying sizes extend the available living space at ground and roof level. The largest of these is protected from intense sun by an extended portico. A rigorous materials concept characterises external and internal design. Dominant here is the strong red colour of the brickwork with its carefully planned and executed jointing.
