This timber house, painted blue-grey, is situated on the edge of a new housing estate on the outskirts of a small town in the Münsterland area. Through its clear and simple use of forms it stands out from the heterogeneous designs surrounding it. The foundations are continuous concrete strip footing, and the house itself is a timber post-and-beam construction. The choice of simple construction methods was intended to cater for the client's wish to complete same of the work himself. The entrance area welcomes the visitor, and with its glazed canopy it offers much more than the usual draught lobby with cloakroom and toilet.
