Dundon is a small village in south-western England and, besides London, the location of one of the two branches of Prewett Bizley Architects. Graham Bizley, co-founder of the practice, has built a timber-build Passive House for himself and his family of four on the outskirts of the village.

In deference to the rural surroundings, Bizley avoided any typical suburban elements such as a garage and a fenced-in front garden, and had the roof covered with metal roofing to resemble the agricultural buildings in the area.

The house has a solid, timber-framed wall on the north-western elevation, facing the village. On the other three sides, the roof extends beyond the footprint of the house, creating a series of covered verandas and a carport.
