The new headquarters of the Dutch trade association for textiles and interior decoration, CBW-Mitex, are situated in a wooded, parklike landscape south-east of Zeist, near Utrecht. Except for a grey-tile faced core for ancillary rooms, the complete building was clad with a triple-glazed, stick system facade. Shading is provided by movable blinds as well as by fixed horizontal cantilevering sun shades in front of the floor slabs. The building is equipped with concrete core activation (with some additional cooling ceilings in some rooms), and heated and cooled by a heat pump. Additionally, a ventilation system with heat recovery, which draws fresh air through an underground duct from the park, was installed.
