The new station in Rennes is not simply a functional location. It is a public urban space and a major element in a development project for a new city centre. The station hall, covered with a roof of ETFE-membrane cushions, forms a central node. Here, train passengers encounter not only those from the neighbouring coach station and the two metro lines, but also people who are simply strolling around, enjoying the view of the city.
