This narrow-fronted shop with its tunnel-like entrance has a dark, reclusive air. Only close up do a few spotlit items become visible in the tinted glass windows. Behind the reflecting door, however, a colourful plastic interior is revealed. The entire room is lined with a Barbarella-look acrylic-glass tube, its attachment to the building’s steel frame just visible through the translucent panels. Designer shoes are presented in compartments around the walls, skilfully placed mirrors extending the space. Ellipsoid-shaped stools and a cash-desk sculpture complete the retro-futuristic atmosphere. Hundreds of white and coloured fluorescent lights behind the cladding can be programmed to create varying light moods.
