The idea underlying the development of a programme of system housing, undertaken in conjunction with the LBS building society, was based on social developments in Germany in recent years. Architects like Charles Eames, Jean Prouvé, Richard Buckminster Fuller and Konrad Wachsmann, who helped shape the history of industrialized building, all attempted to combine the solution of social problems with an economic use of resources. Despite the fact that the LBS System House is based on prefabricated elements and modules, it was possible to provide a variety of layout options, a high level of technical quality and great diversity in the products without incurring additional costs.Georg Sahner
