Urban space is not always treated very kindly. It is cluttered with buildings that are often not in harmony with each other. Into such a situation, we were required to insert a series of technical structures: the stations – stops and waiting areas – for a street-level urban-rail line. The recognition that “unspectacular” structures of this kind, together with other functional and commercial street objects, exert an influence on the environment equal to that of “major” buildings has led to greater importance being attached to the design of these structures.
