With regard to function and appearance, this timber frame building is characteristic of the rural type cottage reserved for the farmer when he hands the estate over to his san. The house is located on the densely built-up outskirts of an Upper Bavarian community. The slender, double-storey single-ridge timber frame building exhibits the great variety of traditional rural style, as well as demonstrates construction methods that take into consideration the exposed climatic situation of the countryside on the foothills of the Alps: the characteristically long drawn-out shape of the buildings with generously projecting roofs to protect the timber construction from heavy precipitation and strong winds.
