The villa Sjöstedt is one in a series of houses designed by Jan Gezelius that is characteristic for its flat roof pitch and generously cantilevering roofs. The striking effect of these houses is not achieved by the material used for the roofing, but rather by the light, almost floating roof form, the dynamic impact of which is further enhanced by rainwater gutters amply cantilevering over the verge as well as by the high slender purlins.
